Another historic villa has been demolished in the center of Tirana to make way for a block of apartments.
The classic Italian style villa was situated on Rruga Qemal Guranjaku, near the American Embassy and the Public Health Directorate. It had been rented out to a business for the last five years who had operated it as a bar, hostel, music venue, and co-working space.
This is the latest in a long line of historic villas and buildings, some with protected status, that have been demolished to make way for tower blocks in recent months.
