Head of the Union Sokol Dautaj said that as from today, they will take the protest to the next level. This is the second hunger strike in a year due to unpaid wages.

“We will close the doors of the premises…we aree serious…there is no show here.”

Dautaj then put a padlock on the door. Another of those striking said that they were prepared to be sacrificed and they had pledged and sworn infront of the Albanian flag.

Yesterday, one of those protesting was hospitalised in a serious condition. Medical staff said that the other protestors need urgent medical care.

Dautaj appealed to Prime Minister Edi Rama to help find a solution but Rama said he was not responsible. He also said the strike wasn’t necessary and could be solved by dialogue. Meanwhile, the protestor say they have received no communication from state insitutions.
