PDIU leader Shpëtim Idrizi continues to insist that he has received sufficient votes to win a mandate in the County of Tirana, claiming that he has won 12,500 votes.
On July 5, the Central Election Commission (KQZ) approved the election results of Tirana, which included 12,347 votes or 2.98% for Idrizi’s PDIU, 0.02% below the electoral threshold of 3%.
During a press conference, however, Idrizi claims that video footage fro the counting process shows that on many of the counting tables at which the PDIU had no representative, that is 50% of the counting tables, PDIU votes had not been correctly represented in the final vote count.
So far, now that we have reviews 65% of the footage, we already find that on many tables where the PDIU didn’t have a counter it is clear that the votes of the PDIU in the ballot box are not represented on the vote counting protocols, and as a result lack from the final results.
Today the KQZ is expected to review the complaint of the PDIU about its “missing” votes.
