The Independent Qualification Commission has dismissed the Shkodra Appellate Judge, Selim Kryeziu, due to problems with his property and image.
The decision was made by Valbona Sanxhaktari, Etleda Çiftja and Xhensila Pine.
During the administrative investigation, KPC found some problems with the declaration of assets:
– Failure to justify the income of persons to whom the judge had lent EUR 20,000. When asked about the documents proving that third parties had the financial means to provide this loan, the judge submitted documents showing their income, but belonging to a period later than when the loan was taken.
– For several years, the analysis of the judge’s assets came out with a negative balance, in total 5.6 million ALL.
– Inaccurate declarations of assets over the years.
– Fictitious increase in the price of an apartment in Librazhd – the judge stated that he bought it for 600 thousand ALL, but the documents showed that he bought it for 437 thousand ALL. Three days after the purchase, the judge sold the apartment for 1.4 million ALL.
DSIK also gave a negative assessment of the figure of the judge and recommended that he is not suitable to continue in office. This is due to accusations of three cases of bribery and active involvement in corruption.
