The waste management and cleaning for the municipality of Kamza will be given through a concession. The municipality has opened the tender procedures and applications are due April 16.
The concession for the cleanup, collection, transportation, and sorting through waste will last for 12 years. The project’s value is appraised at $13 million.
According to the documentation by the Public Procurement Agency, the company that is awarded the concession must make its own primary investment for the necessary machinery and tools, while the Kamza municipality will pay $13 million throughout a period of 12 years from the moment the contract is signed.
The contract in question includes the construction of a landfill where the waste will be collected. The landfill, for the construction of which the municipality has offered a plot of land near the Valias area, must be built within 2 years from the signing of the contract.
