The unconstitutional election of the Temporary Prosecutor General seems to have all kinds of curious side-effects. While in December the Civil Society Ad-Hoc Commission released a statement declaring that after five failed open calls it seemed impossible to find qualifying candidates for the civil society member of the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP), that same commission has now managed to find 4 qualifying candidates.
Yesterday, the Civil Society Ad-Hoc Commission sent a list of four qualifying candidates to the Parliament, with the following overall scores:
- Entela Baci Hoxhaj (81)
- Andi Murataj (79.5)
- Mimoza Qinami (79)
- Alfred Balla (69)
One of these candidates will be elected by Parliament, after which the KLP will be complete and can be installed. The installation of the KLP will supposedly lead to the nomination of a new Prosecutor General and the installation of the Special Prosecutor and the National Investigation Bureau.
