Kosovo government and EUROPOL have signed a Working Arrangement on Monday to fight serious crimes.
Minister of Interior Agim Veliu said that this agreement shows that Kosovo police are treated equally as their colleagues throughout Europe. He explained that it will strengthen the country’s capacities in the fight against organized crime, terrorism and other forms of crime. Kosovo has suffered the lack of exchange of information in real time, he added, to prevent criminal activities.
The parties will later sign two memoranda for the agreement to be implementable.
EU Ambassador to Pristina Nataliya Apostolova said the agreement will increase the level of cooperation between the EU and Kosovo.

Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and Northern Macedonia are non-EU members that have liaison officers at EUROPOL.
Kosovo was the only country in the Western Balkans with no cooperation agreement with the European police.
