The Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albulena Balaj Halimaj held a meeting with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Northern Macedonia, Artan Grubi on Wednesday, where they discussed about a possible joint governmental meeting.
“We have discussed many topics related to our countries and how we can deepen our cooperation between our countries and our citizens. The idea was to hold a joint meeting of our governments,” Balaj Halimaj said during a press conference.
“We have not set a date for the government meeting yet, but it could probably be held in January,” she added.
Also, Grubi expressed the readiness of North Macedonian government for such a meeting to be held in January.
“We had a very fruitful meeting and detailed discussion about the readiness of our two countries to hold the first meeting. We request that this government meeting be held as soon as possible in the coming weeks. At the latest probably until the first half of January,” Grubi said.
Among other topics, Grubi said that it was also discussed about the gas interconnection for Kosovo which should be connected through North Macedonia.
“The study which is financed by the Investment Fund for the Western Balkans has already started and this will be of an extraordinary interest to the citizens of Kosovo,” Grubi said.
