Turkey will increase the cooperation with Kosovo in economy and defense, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Monday after a meeting with the outgoing minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Meliza Haradinaj Stublla in Ankara.
Cavusoglu said that “there is still room for improvement” on economic cooperation between the two countries, the Turkish news agency Anadolu reports.
“We agreed on the readiness to further deepen relations in terms of security and military, especially the legitimate aspiration of Kosovo to advance its integration path to NATO, thus concluding the security architecture in the Adriatic belt,” Haradinaj Stublla wrote on Facebook.
She said that during the meeting it was discussed on bilateral relations, raising with priority the issue of access to the vaccine against COVID 19 vaccine.
“We received support for close cooperation in this regard,” she wrote.
While in terms of regional and international developments, Haradinaj Stublla said that her counterpart showed commitment “on full support in concluding the universal recognition of the Republic of Kosovo, as a member with full rights and responsibilities in the international community”.
