Minister of Health Armend Zemaj has announced that the distribution of seasonal influenza vaccines in Kosovo has begun on Monday.
“With the first 165,000 vaccines, the most vulnerable groups in our country will be immunized,” Zemaj wrote on Facebook.
The vaccines are purchased by the Ministry of Health through UNICEF and will be given to citizens for free.
Zemaj said there will be enough vaccines and the government will be able to provide more at any time if needed. He added that the Ministry will provide another 50,000 vaccines, thus increasing the number by 100 percent compared to the previous year.
Vaccines will be given according to priorities and in accordance with global standards against influenza.
