Vetevendosje MP Gazmend Gjyshinca has publicly accused two majority MPs of physically assaulting him inside the parliament building.
Gjyshinca accused Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) MPs Kujtim Shala and Arben Gashi of attacking him after he had asked questions during a hearing session with the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the parliamentary committee of foreign affairs.
Shala and Gashi denied the attack during a press conference.
Vetevendosje MP Fitore Pacolli, who is also a member of the same committee, told journalists that she had witnessed the physical attack after the hearing session.
She claimed that Minister Meliza Haradinaj-Stublla, assisted by the majority MPs in the committee, had tried to avoid answering their questions. They had arranged for limited questions (only two) and time for each MP, which Pacolli claimed was unusual.
The minister reportedly claimed she could only stay in the committee for one hour as she was very busy. Pacolli said this was also unusual for a minister when he/she reports in the committee.
Vetevendosje MPs claimed the minister and other majority MPs were frustrated by their questions regarding the work of the institution.
Gjyshinca claimed that when he left the room, MPs Shala and Gashi were waiting for him and attacked him. He said he filed a report with the police.
LDK leader Isa Mustafa reacted by saying that Gjyshinca had made up the attack. “Academic Shala is able to beat all at Vetevendosje, from the first to the last, with wisdom and arguments,” he concluded.
