Kosovo Prime Minister Says Dialogue with Serbia Must End in Mutual Recognition

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti emphasized that the dialogue with Serbia can only end with mutual recognition.

Kurti made the statement yesterday, following a meeting with  EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajčák.

“The reality must be accepted, and we must be at the service of the citizens of both countries, through a stable and enforceable agreement, which focuses on mutual recognition”, said Kurti.

In a statement published by his office, Kurti also reiterated that Kosovo is an equal party to the dialogue, and not a topic on the agenda.

Lajčák himself did not give any details on the meeting, saying he would give a statement at the end of his three-day visit to Kosovo.

Lajčák’s visit comes after Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić postponed their third meeting as representatives from both countries had failed to make any substantial progress regarding the issues on the table.
