Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has decreed local elections to be held in the Podujevo and North Mitrovica municipalities on November 29, 2020.
The two municipalities have been without a mayor for several months. However, the President had not declared new elections due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Former mayor of Podujevo Agim Veliu left his post in February to become minister of interior. North Mitrovica mayor Goran Rakic also joined the government in June as deputy prime minister and minister of local government.
