Kosovo’s Minister of Health, Armend Zemaj announced the number of PCR tests for COVID- 19 will be tripled as from today.
Zemaj wrote on social media, Facebook that Kosovo received two testing devices as a donation from the World Health Organization.
“The good news is that the testing capacity will be tripled,” Zemaj wrote.
“After a continuous commitment to increase the number of testing devices, the goal is achieved,” he added.
Zemaj wrote that both devices will be used by the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo.
He also announced that Kosovo today received 15 respirators worth about 500,000 euros, funded by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany.
Out of 72 thousand people tested since the beginning of the pandemic, 15,938 resulted positive.
14,143 of them have been recovered.
On Wednesday Kosovo has reported three deaths related to COVID-19 in 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 638.
