Kosovo Woman Breaks Guinness World Record with Origami Flag

A Kosovo flag made out of origami paper has won a Guinness World Record.

Arbnora Fejza Idrizi created the flag of Kosovo, spread over 1,200 square meters, and said she wanted it to be in honor of the 13th anniversary of her country’s independence.

Fejza Idrizi broke the world record held by a school in Mongolia, which managed to create a flag of 1,161 square meters.

She needed 127,400 pieces of 22 cm square paper and worked for four hours a day over four months. She was assisted by a handful of students.

“We created this flag with a lot of work and dedication to celebrate Independence Day, and this certification is a seal that good work is always rewarded in the end,” she said.

The inspiring young woman has been creating origami art for more than ten years.

She already broke two Guinness World Records with her work. In September 2018, Idrizi broke the record with the largest origami flower in the world, measuring 8.70 m in diameter.

While in 2019 she broke another record with the largest origami vase of flowers in the world, which measured 2.21 m x 2.38 m x 2.73 m.
