Kosovo’s Acting President Vjosa Osmani held a meeting with the head of European Union office in Kosovo, Tomas Szunyog, following political developments and the expected snap elections in the country.
They discussed the latest developments in Kosovo, “with special emphasis on the need to respect the decision of the Constitutional Court as well as the legal deadlines”, a statement issued by Osmani’s office on Tuesday reads.
The Constitutional Court ruled that snap parliamentary elections should take place in Kosovo, after it found that the voting in of the current government was unconstitutional due to e vote of a convicted MP.
Osmani and Szynyog also discussed about the management of the situation with Covid-19, as well as efforts to provide vaccines for the citizens of Kosovo.
“Both interlocutors agreed that this issue should be treated as a priority, while Kosovo institutions have a clear vaccination plan,” the statement reads.
The Acting President has started consultations with all political parties in Kosovo before she decides on the snap elections date.
