Kosovo’s Ex-PM Open for a Post-Election Coalition with Vetevendosje

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ramush Haradinaj said on Wednesday that he is open to cooperation with the Vetevendosje Movement if they win the parliamentary elections.

In an interview with Balkan Talks for Euronews Albania, Haradinaj said that they did not rule out the possibility of a post-election coalition with other parties as well.

“We do not have red lines and we are open with every party for a coalition after the elections,” he said.

Regarding the political platform of AAK in the elections, he said that it includes every field such as economy, politics, education, and science.

Haradinaj decided to not run for Prime Minister but has already announced his candidacy for president, claiming he can help Kosovo if he leads this institution.

“I have simplified my focus in this election by seeking the post of the president,” Haradinaj said.

Snap parliamentary elections are set to be held on February 14, while the parliament should after voting for the government, as well as for the president.

Four candidates are running for Kosovo’s Prime Minister, the leader of Vetevendosje, Albin Kurti, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Enver Hoxhaj, the outgoing Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, and the leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (NISMA), Fatmir Limaj.

Kosovo has been left with an Acting President since November 5, when Hashim Thaci had to resign after a war crime indictment was confirmed against him by The Hague- based Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
