On August 4, Kosovo’s government dismissed the temporary boards of directors of four public companies.
In a press release, the government announced that it has replaced all the board members of the Regional Prishtina Water Company, the Ibër-Lepenc Public Hydroeconomic Company, the Kosovo Electricity Corporation, and the Regional Prizren Water Company.
According to the Ministry of Finance and the Environment, the dismissal of the board members came as a result of their failure to comply with the Ministry’s order to stop recruiting high officials.
The previous government, headed by Vetevendosje leader Albin Kurti, dismissed most of the country’s public company boards, claiming that they were riddled with malpractice and nepotism.
