Kosovo’s Ministry of Health has recommended interrupting coronavirus contact tracing.
As COVID-19 infected cases grow within the country and restrictive measures are lifted, casting a wide net via contact tracing has put a strain on Kosovo’s testing capabilities, the Ministry claims.
The Ministry of Health instead recommends restricting testing to only those patients who display coronavirus symptoms (including coughing, fever, difficulty breathing, and sudden loss of smell or taste) and persons who live in or have traveled to areas that constitute hotbeds of the virus.
So far Kosovo has reported 2169 coronavirus infected cases, and 37 victims.
