Kosovo opposition parties Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), and the Social Democratic Initiative (NSD) have filed a motion at the Kosovo parliament to dismiss Minister of Integration Blerim Reka.
This comes at the heels of Reka’s suggestion that a compromise offered to Serbia in exchange of recognition and a UN seat for Kosovo could be a transit route to access the Mediterranean Sea through Kosovo and into the Albanian port of Durres, during the previous week. Reka later clarified this was his own personal suggestion, not the government’s.
The opposition’s motion stated that they considered the Minister’s statement to be unconstitutional, thus the motion for a resolution requesting his dismissal.
