Kosovo’s Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti is willing to continue talks with Serbia without the presence of President Hashim Thaci.
During a July 2 press conference, when asked if he was willing to continue negotiations by himself Hoti confirmed that he was ready to begin dialogue, “in coordination with [US Special Representative Richard] Grenell,” with an agenda that will initially concern the economy, and then evolve into a political one.
“There is no alternative to dialogue,” Hoti said “That is why every time I am invited to the US or Brussels I will be there, representing Kosovo.”
Hoti chose not to attend a June 27 meeting with senior Serbian officials in Washington after it came out that Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci was indicted for war crimes by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office on June 24.
