In a vetting session yesterday, the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK), brought forward several damning pieces of evidence against High Court judge Admir Thanza.
He would have failed declare a garage that he was gifted by construction company Curri shpk in 2017, while he also failed to mention a previous final conviction of 40 days imprisonment in Italy for assisting to a robbery. Furthermore, the National Security Agency (DSIK) reported that Thanza had had inappropriate contacts with criminal figures.
Apart from throwing serious doubt on Thanza’s confirmation as judge by the KPK, failure to mention a previous final conviction on the decriminalization form is a criminal offence in itself.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has appealed to President Ilir Meta to immediately fire High Court judge Thanza and requested the Prosecution Office to immediately open a criminal investigation.
