Albanian scholar and author Lea Ypi has been named on of the world’s top thinkers for 2022 by Prospect Magazine.
The magazine describes those on the list as “the intellectuals coming up with the most exciting and potentially game-changing ideas in their fields—from war analysts, climate scientists and tech regulators to the philosophers rethinking sex and gender.”
Ypi was listed in relation to her book “Free” which has been lauded internationally while being considered more controversial at home.
“Her memoir critiques both the repression of communism and the inequalities and violence that she witnessed as a teenager after Albania became capitalist,” the blurb states.
