Lockdown Measures Further Relaxed in ‘Low Risk’ Areas of Albania

Starting from 27 April, lockdown measures will be further relaxed in some cities in the south and south-east of the country.

Residents of Diber and Gjirokaster counties as well as the Municipalities of Pogradec, Prrenjas, Librazhd, Saranda, Himara, Konispol, Finiq and Divjaka will be allowed to move on foot, or by car without authorisation between 09:30 and 17:30/

Those using cars will only be able to drive within their county and cannot exit, or enter another area.

Before 09:30, only those with work authorisation are able to leave the house. This time will be reserved for elderly citizens to exercise from 08:30.

It is prohibited to walk or move in a car with more than two people, or to congregate in public parks.

These areas are considered low risk, hence the decision to reduce the lockdown measures there first.

Today, elderly citizens were allowed out to exercise until 11 am. All shops remain closed. There has not yet been an announcement on whether mothers and children under 10 will be allowed to leave the house tomorrow, like last week.
