Macron to Host Kosovo Prime Minister in Paris ahead of Dialogue Resumption

Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti will visit France on Tuesday, July 7.

Hoti announced the news today, after the EU-facilitated dialogue and the Macron-Merkel summit on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue was made public.

Macron and Merkel will host an online summit on Friday, July 10, before the dialogue resumes on Sunday, facilitated by the EU special envoy, Miroslav Lajcak, and attended by EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell.

The intensified EU attempts to resume the dialogue come shortly after US envoy Richard Grenell indefinitely postponed a summit that was planned to be held at the White House on July 27.

The cancellation of the White House summit between Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovo’s Hashim Thaci came as a direct result of a war crime indictment announced against Thaci.
