French President Emmanuel Macron is planning to host a Paris summit on Kosovo-Serbia dialogue on July 17.
The news was reported by the Kosovo-based Koha newspaper.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Hoti announced a possible meeting in Paris in July, but he mentioned no date.
The news comes on the day EU envoy Miroslav Lajcak left Pristina following his third day of talks with political leaders on the dialogue resumption. Next week he is expected to visit Belgrade for the same purpose.
Macron has proposed a Paris Summit on the matter since after the Berlin Summit, in which the then Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj refused to lift tariffs on Serbian goods in order to go back to talks.
Back then, Haradinaj alleged that a secret Kosovo-Serbia deal was likely to have been discussed between Presidents Hashim Thaci and Aleksandar Vucic, with the support of the EU chief diplomat Ferderica Mogherini and Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Paris Summit will follow the White House Summit of June 27, in which Kosovo and Serbia’s leaders are expected to discuss possible agreements with a focus on economy, according to US envoy Richard Grenell.
Contradicting statements have been issued by the two countries, with Kosovo claiming they are going to Washington to get recognition from Serbia, and the latter denying such claims.
