Mask Wearing in Albanian Mandatory in Public from Monday

Wearing a mask in open spaces will become mandatory from next week throughout Albania.

Prime Minister Edi Rama broke the news during a press conference with Health Minister Ogerta Manistirliu.

Rama said:

“The mask hasn’t been mandatory here or in many countries…It’s not even considered necessary by international experts and of course the topic is discussed everywhere but from next week, it will be mandatory everywhere except the house, bar, or restaurant where you are sitting. Masks will be mandatory…”

He added that the financial penalty will be applied to the electricity bill so no one can avoid it.

Previously masks were only required in inside spaces.
