New High-Rise Tower Approved in Center of Tirana

Prime Minister Edi Rama and Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj have approved the construction of a new 24- storey tower in the center of Tirana.

The development will stand on the site of the previous Exhibition Center (Ekspozita), on the Gjergj Fishta Boulevard in central Tirana.

According to documents provided to Exit News, approval was given on 8 November 2019. The building will be around 100m high with 24 floors above ground and will include a shopping center, offices, and residential units.

Exit has previously reported on the government’s plans to effectively erase the center of Tirana and to construct a growing number of high-rise tower blocks.
