Yesterday was the application deadline for the position of National Ombudsman. This was the second time that the parliamentary Law Commission opened the application process, after it inexplicably, and in violation of the law, decided to cancel the application process that was started in September 2016.
This new round of applications has produced fourteen potential candidates:

As we explained before, the National Ombudsman has an important function in the judicial reform, by monitoring and organizing part of the nomination process of the new members for the High Judicial Council (KLGj) and the High Prosecutorial Council (KLP), the ad-hoc Commission of Judicial Nominations, and the permanent Council of Judicial Nominations (KED).
