The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani stressed that purchase of anti-coronavirus vaccines has precedence over the dialogue with Serbia.
“We can not talk about the dialogue with Serbia while we have people dying due to a lack of vaccines,” Osmani said on Friday, during a meeting with the Belgian Ambassador to Prishtina, Jean-Louis Servais.
She said the government is working with partners to provide vaccine supplies.
Ambassador Servais praised the good relations between the two countries, adding that they should strengthen further and that Belgium will continue supporting Kosovo on its European path.
Top EU diplomat Josep Borrell stressed the need for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue to continue.
Kosovo was the last Balkan country to start vaccination. Three weeks since the country received its first 24,000 doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine through COVAX, half of the doses have been administered to priority groups.
