Three terrorist suspects were arrested in North Macedonia, authorities announced on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Interior said they arrested “a terrorist group operating in the territory of Northern Macedonia”.
The three suspects were V.A. (22), E.L. 25, and B.A. (28) from Kumanovo. They are expected to be charged with criminal offencs of “membership in a terrorist organization” and “terrorism”.
The police reported they had fought in wars outside North Macedonia, and served prison sentences upon returning to their homeland.
Authorities seized a number of weapons, ammunition and devices. An ISIS flag was found among other things.
The group is suspected to have been planning terrorist acts in North Macedonia.
