Norwegian Embassy in Prishtina Donates €440,000 to Buy Ventilators for Coronavirus Patients

In an announcement on Facebook, the embassy said:

“Norway will contribute 5 million Norweigan kroner to help procure urgently needed ventilators for Kosovo in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. A big thank you to our partner UNDP Kosovo”.

5 million Norwegian kroner roughly equates to €440,000.

This morning the Ministry of Health in Kosovo announced that two patients diagnosed with Coronavirus had died in the early hour of the morning.

One patient was a 59-year-old suffering from type 2 diabetes who was admitted on 4 April in a critical condition. The second was a 70-year-old female patient who had diabetes, hypertension and cardiomyopathy and had been admitted on 2 April.

To date, a total of 1964 tests have been carried out in Kosovo and 145 came back positive. Most of the cases are in Malisheva, followed by the capital of Prishtina.23 have fully recovered and three have died. Six of those who recovered were over 60 years old.
