Starting today, July 19th, and until Sunday, every Albanian citizen and resident over 18 will be eligible to receive a vaccine jab. The announcement was made by Health Minister Ogerta Manastirliu on Facebook.
Vaccination will be offered throughout Albania, and everyone wanting a jab will need to sign up on the government’s online portal, e-Albania, and reserve a spot. They will then be informed via text of the time and place where they will receive the vaccine.
Those that do not have access to the portal, such as foreign residents, should appear at the vaccination center with their passport and residence permit.
In her post, Manastirliu urged citizens to take advantage of these open days and get vaccinated, since the Institute of Public Health has strong suspicions that the Delta Variant may have reached Albania.
Last Thursday, 340,000 doses of the Coronavac vaccine arrived in Albania, the largest shipment to date.
32,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine are expected to arrive today after the Albanian government signed an undisclosed agreement with Pfizer in June.
More than 1,5 million doses of vaccine have been administered so far in Albania.
