Opposition’s Democratic Party (PD) has reported the Mayor of Elbasan Gledian Llatja to the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecution (SPAK) on suspicions of abuse of office.
The report filed on Tuesday alleges that Mayor Llatja may have favored a private company by awarding public land for construction of residential buildings in the city center, causing a €8.3 million loss in public money.
It adds that the municipality awarded the land through a public-private partnership to the company in exchange for 2,684 square meters in the constructed buildings, instead of the 11,912 square meters required.
