OSCE Trains Albanian Prosecutors and Judicial Police in Criminal Investigation

The OSCE Presence in Albania has trained prosecutors and judicial police officers investigating criminal offences and leadership skills.

It was organized in cooperation with the Albanian School of Magistrates in two days, 2-3 December, as part of attempts to consolidate the criminal justice system in the country, the OSCE announced.

The Presence is expected to publish the Handbook on Prosecutorial Leadership in the weeks ahead, which will contain an analysis of the gaps in the coordination between prosecutors and judicial police.

The work of the judicial police and cooperation with prosecutors is crucial in criminal investigations. While the two institutions are independent from each other, the officers are the ones who are expected to provide prosecutors with findings and evidence of investigations on the ground.
