Over 50 Residents of Kukes Seek Treatment for Poisoning

More than 50 residents of a village in Kukes have reported to the local hospital with signs of poisoning such as diarrhoea while the local water authorities are investigating the potential cause.

The village of Shtiqen has been struck down by mysterious poisoning with crowds of residents attending the local hospital. None of the cases were serious and all were discharged shortly after receiving medical care.

Doctor at Kukes Hospital, Albert Shehu said there was an influx of visits and the situation had been reported to the Directorate of Hygiene which took samples of water for analysis.

UKT in Kukes said samples taken from the water supply are colourless and odourless but water will be switched off until analysis is complete.
