Yesterday Parliament has elected the majority members of the second and third parliamentary ad-hoc committees, which will make the final selection for the members of the three vetting institutions, the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK), the Appeals Collega (KA), and the two Public Commissioners.
The second parliamentary ad-hoc committee, which will elect the KPK and Public Commissioner, consists of 12 deputies with 6 from the opposition and 6 from the majority. The majority elected the following members:
- Pandeli Majko (PS)
- Ulsi Manja (PS)
- Evis Kushi (PS)
- Bashkim Fino (PS)
- Luan Rama (LSI)
- Mesila Doda (PDIU)
The third parliamentary ad-hoc committee, which will elect the KA, consists of 6 deputies with 3 from the opposition and 3 from the majority. The majority elected the following members:
- Vasilika Hysi (PS)
- Ervin Bushati (PS)
- Vangjel Tavo (LSI)
Last week, Parliament elected the majority members of the first parliamentary ad-hoc committees, comprising a total of 6 deputies:
- Ulsi Manja (PS)
- Vasilika Hysi (PS)
- Luan Rama (LSI)
Silva Caka (LSI) and Dashamir Peza (PS) are substitute members. This first ad-hoc committee will produce the final list of qualifying candidates, based on the selection of the National Ombudsman and the recommendations of the International Monitoring Operation (ONM), from which the second and third ad-hoc committee will choose the vetting institutions.
As long as the opposition members of these three ad-hoc committees have not been elected, they will not be able to start their work.
