Today Head of Democratic Party Lulzim Basha asked for the reversal of the Law on Higher Education. On the 8th day of students’ protest Basha tweeted:
Change in higher education starts with the reversal of the law on higher education and doubling of the budget on education. Citizens’ money has to be taken away from looting concessions for [health] check-up, incinerators with unknown owners behind them, roads with a tenfold cost of that in the US.
The money for façade projects enriching Edi Rama and his clients must be invested in education. The €30 million that Edi Rama is trying to steal through shell companies is enough money to build a modern campus for the University of Tirana, which students have been demanding for years.
Thousands of students have been protesting for more than a week against Rama governments’ decision to raise university tariffs. They have demanded the reversal of the Law on Higher Education and the reduction of tariffs.
