Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced the eight matters that his government will focus on during 2020.
In a lengthy video message on Facebook, the Prime Minister addressed eight different issues and pledged what his government will do during the next 12 months.
1-Reconstruction of buildings damaged by the 26 November earthquake:
“With the rebuilding of homes, as the highlight of the coming year […], The year 2020 should be the year of exemplary healing of earthquake wounds. By the end of 2021, those wounds must have become parables of Albanian strength, faith, hope in the future. “
2- Anti-CCC law :
“As the new year begins, the earthquake of the state will fall to the foundations of the underworld that disrupt the community, society and this country […] Whoever commits crimes must prove the purity of his wealth or lose it.”
3-The political project with a “new beginning”
“… The idea […] of a new beginning has taken hold of me since the absurd political conflict of the first half of the year. Further, when the European Council’s refusal to open negotiations with Albania caused a psychological earthquake […], this thought was reinforced as a need for a fresh start. […] I’m not from the kind of politicians lying about votes […] think it yourself […], go back a second in time, why should I lie, promise things I don’t even believe when with the power that God has given me and with the political power that leads, opponents to say the truth, I could beat even the quarter of my promises! ”
4-Digitization of services for official documents:
“The end of 2020 should also be the end of the 30-year chapter of a never-ending rumble of letters under the armpit of the people, demanding service at the state counters.”
5-Properties and development along the coastline:
“The seizures of the beaches and the inability of the people of this country to choose […] whether they want to go to a public beach, or to a toll beach, must end. But this is only A, because, in the future, any further construction without any plan, no sense, no quality and no harm to the ambition of tourist Albania should be banned. Albania needs projects and investments that turn the coastline’s potential into a source of economic power… ”
6-Balkan Mini-Schengen:
“[…] It is not the new Yugoslavia, the Serbian plan for the economic conquest of the region or the war crimes amnesty, but it is a historical necessity. The EU will deploy 1.2 billion euros next year for regional cooperation. But even without this, the increased cooperation and participation of both Albanian states [in the initiative] […] is more than just the premise to grow not only the economy of our countries but also to improve the overall climate and create better conditions. conducive to the very dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.”
7-Anti-Defamation Package:
“[…] I have neither thought, nor demanded, nor supported a law restricting freedom of expression. I have voted in parliament, along with my political force, a law that enables victims of defamation to be protected from aggression on human portals and portal readers to learn the truth of unjustly accused people. No thorn in the leg introduces the law against publishers, journalists and analysts against defamation and fabrication in portals … ”
8-Exploitation of natural resources and economy:
“In 2020 we expect new oil discoveries from Shell as Eni launches investments in the Dumrea block. […] Today […] may seem like a year-end holiday fantasy! But no, realistic forecasts, not optimistic ones, speak of a decade (the future) that will positively reverse Albania’s economic parameters thanks to new developments from the country’s underground.
