President Ilir Meta has published 13 names of candidates for the Constitutional Court. According to the Constitution, 3 judges at the Constitutional Court are to be nominated by the President. The list of candidates has been sent to the Justice Appointments Council (KED) to be evaluated and ranked.

Several of the candidates already passed the vetting: Arta Vorpsi, Elsa Toska, Fiona Papagjorgji. They all currently work as councillors at the Constitutional Court. Ilir Mustafaj’s dossier was already opened, but is still awaiting vetting.
Marsida Xhaferllari’s vetting was recently concluded without verdict, as she no longer has the status of judge. Xhaferllari is also candidate for the High Justice Inspector. Valbona Bala’s vetting was interrupted as she no longer worked as councillor at the Constitutional Court by the time her vetting dossier was opened. The Public Commissioner appealed this decision at the Special Appeals Chamber.
The Constitutional Court continues to be without quorum, as only 1 judge is left.
