Prime Minister Edi Rama promised to increase salaries for teachers in 2021.
In a meeting with teachers, on Monday Rama did not say how much the salaries will increase, but announced that:
“We will make a new salary increase for teachers, as well as for doctors, and this will be done very soon, I believe with the new budget.”
He said that nepotism and the appointment of teachers according to political interests and bribes are over:
“Now the recruitment of teachers is done on a regular basis, according to the portal.”
Rama said that with employment through the portal and with the school of directors, “we are closing a very big wound, that of the extreme politicization of the teaching staff”.
