Prime Minister Rama Clashes with Medical Student during Graduation Ceremony

Yesterday, Prime Minister Edi Rama participated in the University of Medicine graduation ceremony where 1600 received their diplomas.

During Rama’s speech, a student from the audience intervened to ask whether Rama was aware of the fact that the only people graduating were the ones who could afford the high fees of public higher education.

Rama denied that what the student claimed was true and fired back, advising him to get medicated.

The Prime Minister also notified young doctors that those among them who would agree to work away from their home towns would receive monthly bonuses, in addition to their wages.

He took the opportunity to deny the opposition’s claims that doctors and nurses are leaving Albania en masse, claiming instead that around 1500 nurses are currently in the wait-list to start working in state hospitals.
