Adnan Xholi, Prosecutor in the General Prosecutor’s Office, faced today the Independent Qualification Commission (KPK).
Prosecutor Xholi worked earlier as a prosecutor at the Serious Crimes Prosecution Office. Since 2013, he works at the General Prosecutor’s Office. Currently, Xholi is the Director of Inspection, Human Resources and Witness Protection at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
In today’s hearing, the High Inspectorate of the Declaration and Audit of Assets and Conflict of Interest (ILDKPKI) reported that Xholi made an accurate declaration of assets.
But according to the Independent Qualification Commission’s administrative investigation, Xholi’s bank account statements have some inaccuracies.
The National Security Agency (DSIK) gave to the KPK a positive assessment regarding the prosecutor.
The prosecutor himself asked for a confirmation on duty, saying that:
I have investigated some of the most serious crimes in Albania. I have investigated some of the most known criminals. I have seized millions of euros of mafia assets. I investigated some of the most noted criminal gangs in Albania as the gang of Lushnja and Durrës, as well as branches of Sacra Corona Unità in Albania. I ask you to objectively evaluate my position and I request the confirmation on duty.
Adnan Xholi is known as a prosecutor who has sought the arrest of former MP Mark Frroku.
The decision concerning Xholi will be given in the coming days.
