Protesting Students Back to the Street

Today students took back to the street demanding the government to meet their demands. They have been protesting for seven weeks, while twelve days ago the protest escalated into occupation of several faculties.

Students gathered at the Parliament building where deputies are holding the weekly session today.

Several failed attempts by Prime Minister Edi Rama to subdue the protest seem to have made students more firm in their demands.

Earlier students were also supported by professors of several faculties. Yesterday professors of the Faculty of Natural Sciences signed a statement in support of the student protest and asking for the Law on Higher Education to be repealed. Professors of faculties of History and Philology, Social Sciences, and Geology and Mining have also publicly supported their students earlier.
