Public Commissioner Demands Dismissal of Judge Anita Mici

The Public Commissioner has demanded the dismissal of the Durrës Appellate Judge, Anita Mici.

In an official announcement, the Commissioner writes:

The Public Commissioner requests from the Special Appellate Panel, that at the end of the review of the appeal in the public session, to decide to change the decision no. 287, dated 4.8.2020, of the Independent Qualification Commission, and to ask for the dismissal of the subject of re-evaluation, Mrs. Anita Mici ”

The Independent Qualification Commission confirmed on duty on August 4, Judge Mici, known for the release from prison of Durrës gang member Lulzim Berisha. The trial panel consisted of Judges Lulzim Hamitaj, Brunilda Bekteshi and Olsi Komici.

The Commission previously found no problems with the judge’s assets and dismissed an inadequacy report from the National Security Agency.  As such, she passed the vetting. With a dubious court decision, Anita Mici released Lulzim Berisha in 2016, on the grounds that he had secured an employment contract in the Municipality of Durrës.

Anita Mici completed her studies at the School of Magistrates in 2002-2005 and was initially appointed a judge in the Shkodra Court. In 2010, Mici was transferred to the Court of Durrës, while in 2016 she was appointed a judge in the Court of Appeal of Durrës.
