Prime Minister Edi Rama has appointed Bledi Çuçi as Albania’s new Minister of Interior.
Çuçi is the country’s Minister of Agriculture. He will be replaced by Milva Ekonomi, Rama announced on Wednesday.
Rama said they have both been dedicated to collaborating with him, have high integrity, professionalism, civic and political culture.
Ekonomi was Minister of Economy in the first Rama Government.
Minister of Interior Sander Lleshaj resigned last week following the police killing of a young man.
The two appointments are expected to be approved by the president before taking office.
