Prime Minister Edi Rama has announced that following his request to Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić, trucks from Kosovo stopped for three days at the border were allowed to Serbia.
“@avucic Good news for Kosovo trucks, no barriers today! Not only good news but also a gesture that deserves appreciation – an expression of the will to win this was together and for us all to get out of better and stronger #Solidarity #Cooperation #WB6,” Rama tweeted on Wednesday evening.
Serbia reportedly blocked several trucks coming from Kosovo at the border one day before the expected decision by Kosovo’s government to lift tariffs on Serbian goods and gradually introduce reciprocity measures for a temporary period.
On Tuesday, Rama asked Vučić to let trucks pass, and urged him to join forces with Western Balkans leaders to keep routes for transport of goods open during the coronavirus epidemic.
