The authorities of Prishtina municipality have fined the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) with €2,000 for violating the measures put in place against COVID-19 by the government it leads. It came after a LDK meeting in the capital failed to comply with restrictions.
The director of Inspection in Prishtina, Adonis Tahiri said that no one will be tolerated.
“No one is above the law,” Tahiri wrote on Facebook , where he also published photos from the LDK’s meeting.
“Implementing measures to prevent the virus spread is essential,” he added.
Kosovo has set February 14 for snap parliamentary elections, following a decision of the Constitutional Court that found the voting in of the current LDK-led government unconstitutional.
“We call on political entities to respect the laws and decisions they themselves have set,” Tahiri wrote.
Citizens have been reacted on social media calling in the recent days, calling on authorities to fine political parties when they publish pics from political rallies, appearing with no masks and in violation of related restrictions.
