“There can be no peaceful and democratic referendum for creating the Greater Albania.” These are the words of Petar Petkovič, head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohia in the Serbian Government, who called the idea of a unification between the two countries “a fascist idea” that will lead to a broad conflict in the region.
His comments came after a statement by Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti that he would “vote “vote for unification with Albania in a future referendum, but only if such a referendum is conducted peacefully and democratically.”
Petovic called Kurti “clearly a man of sinister and dangerous intentions” and “a puppet of certain centers of power who would play war games in the Balkans again.”
He called for the international committee to intervene and denounce any statements referring to border changes in the Balkans.
