After the unexpected resignation of State Information Service (ShISh) director Visho Ajazi, Prime Minister Edi Rama has proposed Helidon Bendo, the current deputy director, as Ajazi’s successor.
Prime Minister Rama presented his proposal to President Ilir Meta today in their first official meeting since Rama’s cabinet was sworn in.
Bendo has worked at the ShISh for 21 years, starting out as an inspector, climbing the bureaucratic ladder to manager and later director of several national departments. From 2009 to 2016, Bendo has been director of the Central Directorate of the ShISh. In April 2016, he became deputy director.
